I'm not a mom, but thank you.

15/5/2017

I had several, well intentioned, people wish me a Happy Mother's Day throughout the morning at church. But here's the thing; I'm not a mom.

By the end of the morning I recognized that having an unoffendable heart during this day - and let's be honest every day - is the key to a Christ-like life.

What do I mean by that?

Well, I could have corrected the well wishers.
I could get upset, "Don't they know better than to blanket all women as mothers?"
Or "Don't they know I'm NOT a mom!?!"

Or I could say thank you, and genuinely mean it for the kind sentiments being sent my way.

Being right is less important than being relational.

O Jesus, that you would keep shaping me and teaching me by your example of how to love other without offense.
