What's what: March 2019

2/3/2019

This is a low-key, slow-moving month.
It's on purpose.

As you may have gathered from my previous posts, I'm not working at the moment.
The plan is to take a month to focus on my mental and emotional health; it's something I seem to easily put on the back-burner while also focusing on the day-to-day responsibilities of pastoral ministry.

Read on, for some of the things I know I'll be doing this month, while leaving LOADS of white space to rest, reflect and process.

  • Celebrate my grandma's 95th birthday with family at hospital. My grandma had a stroke more than a month ago, and is currently in a rehabilitation program.
  • Bake a traditional, Latvian 'Klingeris' for grandma's birthday.
  • See a bunch of professionals to help with my various body, mind and spirit things going on.
  • Play in the snow with my two older nephews, while cuddling the youngest, who is still only a few months old.
  • Read for pleasure!!!
  • Stay connected with Healing Care. It's a 16-week inner healing program offered at the church where I work and I'm taking it as a participant. Really good stuff!
  • Take a short retreat to Parry Sound, where one of my coworkers lives, and has graciously invited me to stay at her cozy home for awhile during this time-off work.
